Whoa time flies when you're scrambling around. I got a whole lot of content to put up, but there's side projects I gotta get through first. I've also been travelling a bit.
In the meantime, I've been steadily updating my Tumblr page so it's not like I've been totally MIA.
Tiesto, Diplo, Dada Life, and Porter Robinson played Oct 8th at Home Depot Center, in Carson, CA. 25,000 people showed up to the sold out event. It's probably one of the only times I'll ever get to see the top 3rd DJ in the world (at time of this writing), so I wanted to see what this show was all about. Every other Monday we gather to practice and hang out. Practice dancing, DJ'ing... whatever's clever. ;-)
Yesterday was the 3rd installment of the Mmm Mmm Good! Cook-off and Pool Party. This party is crazy… it's part cooking competition, part beer pong tournament, part pool and dance party. 17 DJ's rotating throughout the day, and Sweetbeats hooked it up with a sweet DJ setup. Also Daytona of Much-Kneaded Relief was massaging saving everybody's backs that night.
I entered the competition with a crunchy honey garlic sriracha chicken wings. It didn't place, but people whacked the whole tray so that's good enough for me. That's taking into account that there's plenty of vegans and non-spicy folk in attendance.
1st place in the cook-off were Hollie's espresso-braised brisket and Dyana's green tea cupcakes. Winners of the beer pong tournament were Buddha and Steph.

My Mom woke me up at about 4am, I was only asleep for only a few hours so I couldn't exactly get up. All I could hear was they bombed the towers in New York, or something to that effect. She woke me up again 2 hours later the same way, but greater success. I watched the news coverage on CNN, and I was speechless.
I was just there that summer on a family trip. I remember having to walk between the two towers to get to the Statue of Liberty ferry. I also remember shopping for vinyl at Sattelite Records on Bowery St. All that were engulfed in dust and ash after the the towers came down. That's crazy, I thought. I was just there.
So it's time again for another installment of the Granada Hills row of food trucks. It was Steven and I this time, and maybe half the amount of participants on the street. I can't even think right now because I'm so full, so the pics are gonna have to talk for themselves. Quick rundown: grass-fed beef burgers, bulgogi quesadilla, flank steak tempura, tacos de lengua and tripas, more kalbi/dweji/katsu from the Bun Truck, Kogi Truck's spicy pork and short rib tacos. Good times. Just wanna note that the Tempura Truck has malasadas... maybe next time. I'm off to drink copious amounts of water now.
Drove an hour each way in the middle of a weeknight to go to this. Met a lot of new people and ran into some friends that I knew this past year.
Jace won some tickets to Coldplay in LA last week, so he flew down from Seattle to hang out for a few days. Met some new friends along the way and ate way too much, as typical when any of the guys come to visit.
Based in Los Angeles and Honolulu. I'm pretty sure the only way you found this blog is by stalking me. Nice.
